Today, with so many styles and shapes to choose from, it can be difficult to find the right frames for your face shape. Choosing a frame
There are six main face shapes: round, oval, square, oblong, heart, and diamond. To determine your face shape, stand in front of a mirror and trace the outline of your face with a dry-erase marker or lipstick. Then, compare your shape to the descriptions below:
Round faces have a circular shape with no sharp angles.
Oval faces are longer than they are wide, with a gently rounded jawline.
Square faces have a strong jawline and a square-shaped forehead.
Oblong faces are longer than they are wide, with a long, straight forehead and chin.
Heart faces have a wider forehead and a narrow chin.
Diamond faces have a narrow forehead and chin, with wide cheekbones.
Once you know your face shape, you can choose frames that complement your features. Here are some tips:
Round faces look best in angular frames with sharp angles and geometric shapes.
Oval faces can wear almost any frame shape, but rectangular frames can accentuate the balanced proportions of the face.
Square faces benefit from round or oval frames, which can soften the strong angles of the face.
Oblong faces look great in frames with depth, such as round or square frames with a bold design.
Heart faces can wear frames that are wider at the top than at the bottom, such as cat-eye or butterfly frames.
Diamond faces can wear frames that balance the widest part of the face, such as oval or rimless frames.
